Cape Town – Cape Town City collected their first three points of the 2018/19 ABSA Premiership campaign when they defeated a lethargic SuperSport United 2-0 on Saturday evening at the Cape Town Stadium.

Riyaad Norodien was lively for the hosts and he showed his quality to create space for himself and strike a shot on target, though his low effort through the legs of Dean Furman was collected well by Ronwen Williams.

After a cross from the left broke his way just outside of the box, the 27-year-old sent a searing volley into the far corner of the net beyond the goalkeeper who got a touch.

Fellow sub Fagrie Lakay was lively in the closing stages as City suffered a few alarms although it was not to be as the home team collected the three points in the Mother City.
